Should i apologize???????

there's some older woman who i'm completely infatuated with and she found out. i never thought to turn my head and see she was basically right there as i blubbered on and on about her to my friend on the phone. when i did turn around she was still standing there and didn't say anything to me so i just walked away extremely embarred. she's in a position of authority and even though i'm over age she still views me as a kid. i've tried to talk to her but whenever i go to her office she tells me she's really busy, can we talk later. the irritating part is that part of what i need to talk to her about is purely academic not about the phone incident. i've even tried emailing her and she doesn't reply. i'm too embarred to just shout it out about the email when i do see her briefly after lecture. i have a final that will be coming up and i need help--therefore, need to talk to her but she's just avoiding me altogether. what should i do??????? i mean, should i just give a quick "sorry!" or what? i mean, at the moment taking the it never happened approach.
