What does this dream mean? HELP?

Once upon a time, all the world was at war and as a result Canada reverted back to an monarchy. The state was run in an authoritarian fashion. I was myself (female) but had a twin (male). He had ventured out of the country before war broke out but when he returned he was captured by the military & held as a prisoner of war. I had no idea where he was & really worried about him. All the citizens were called to the palace in Ottawa to offer their talents/training to the service of the country. In this dream, my talent was painting. I feared that since I was not an engineer or doctor, this talent would not be valued. When my turn came to go to the palace and "offer" my services to the King, I told him my talent. He replied that in fact, just that day he had a task for me. In the meantime, the King decided that he would want my twin to marry his daughter. But when he offered this "reward" my twin refused vehemently. My twin refused to leave the prision or even meet the princess.
